The Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking talented and motivated CRNAs to join our nationally recognized anesthesia team. We are recruiting for both General Anesthesia and Cardiac Anesthesia practice pathways — as well as candidates interested in a blended general/cardiac model within a high-acuity pediatric environment.
About the Opportunity
CHOP CRNAs provide anesthesia care for a broad range of pediatric surgical specialties including general surgery, ENT, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, plastics, trauma, and complex cardiac procedures. CHOP offers a collaborative practice model supported by world-class pediatric anesthesiologists, advanced technologies, and an environment focused on safety, learning, and team-based care.
We welcome experienced CRNAs and strong new graduates who are passionate about pediatric and/or cardiac anesthesia.
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care to infants, children, and adolescents
Manage a diverse pediatric case mix based on specialty interests (General, Cardiac, or blended)
Perform anesthesia induction, maintenance, emergence, and airway management
Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in ongoing education, simulation training, and professional development
Contribute to departmental initiatives including safety, quality improvement, and clinical innovation
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
Current CRNA certification (or eligible)
Pennsylvania CRNA licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
Strong interest in pediatric anesthesia; previous pediatric experience is a plus
For the cardiac track: experience or strong interest in high-acuity cardiac cases
Commitment to patient safety, family-centered care, and collaborative practice
